North Carolina has some of the best places to get married..
                          Topsail Island is the most beautiful.. It's made for lovers.
                          We will be glad to help you obtain a marriage license
                          on your arrival.  There is no waiting period when you apply for
                          one and no physical exam needed.  You do, however, have to
                           go to a government-based facility to apply.


In most cases, it's very easy to obtain a license to marry.  A marriage license from any issuing North Carolina authority allows you to marry anywhere within the state.  You can apply online prior to appearing in person at any register of deeds in Pender and New Hanover County. How easy is that!

If you traveling to North Carolina and want to get married on or near beautiful Topsail Island, Surf City and Topsail Beach (the middle and southern part of the island) these locations are in Pender County. North Topsail Beach is within Onslow County. New Hanover County is also very close by (about 35 miles). 


You must be 18 and over to get a license
without parental consent.  If you are under
16, you cannot marry without a court order.


Requirements for identification vary, however, most accept the following forms of identification: valid driver's license, military ID, passport and State or County issued certified copy of your birth certificate. Documentation as to Social Security numbers is required.

License is issued on a cash only basis and the fee for the license is $50.00 and an addition $10.00 or a copy of the marriage certificate to be issued after you are married.
